Just entered.
Yes Martyn, I saw that on the website after the discussion earlier. We do a lot of running with the dog in the countryside and are well aware of the rules and guidelines. We are responsible dog owners and I don't make a habit of "deliberately flouting" any rules or guidelines and certainly didn't intend to give that impression. My immediate thoughts were whether or not a race time is admissible if you run with a dog because some of these off roaders allow it, some DQ you for doing so, not because of the sheep though, because of unfair dog assistance I enjoy this race every year and intend to do so next.
All that being said though, Rosie is extremely well behaved around any animals because we have trained her properly. She quite happily runs off the lead and never bothers any sheep or livestock she sees in a field. She's more interested in just running. You do have to be careful around here though because if your dog runs off and it is seen chasing about on its own in a field then there is a high risk of it being shot. We shall be leaving Rosie at home.

Just been thinking about this. Didn't realise I've done it every year since 2004 (apart from this year). A yearly favourite. to those who haven't done it before, you'll enjoy it. The scenery is great, it's well organised and the soup, bread and cakes at the end are great.

I'm assuming dogs will be allowed on a lead near the pavillion (obviously not inside it).
We are going to go and look at a litter of puppies tonight so Slow may have two nutcases onna string to content with!

Will be a good outing I think! Looking forward to seeing everyone!
Martyn, no problemo. Text talk n stuff innit, I always seem to create the wrong impression for some reason.
RooA, a dog on a lead under control I can't see as they can do anything about it on the street or any of the. Makes sense they aren't allowed inside the pavillion though. Funny how they say they cannot allow any on the course but there will be plenty there being walked by their owners up on Baslow and Froggat Edge you can bet! Oh and the old train line (Monsall Trail). "Dogs on Lead" signs abound in the right places on these public routes and most folk abide by that. But tehy still take their dogs up there

So are we all going to make it a double with the Mick and Phil half on the Sunday? I think I might take over dog sitting duties and let Slow run that one though!
