Hi all. Newbie here. ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm doing the Hamsterley Forest 10k run in a couple of weeks. Anyone done it before who can share a route or elevation profile?

I know Hamsterley is far from flat and would just like a little bit of insight into just how unflat the route is likely to be!

I've found two routes for a Hamsterley 10k, but unsure if either is the same as the race you are running (as it looks like the first year for this particular event).

The Hamsterley 10k run in April this year had about 200m of elevation.

The other route I found was from July this year fetcheveryone.com/races/hamsterley-forest-10k-7157264
and that had 100m of elevation (I think)

There's no route on the event website of your race, so can't tell if either is right, but good luck anyway.

Thanks @Llamadance! Yeah, I couldn't find anything on the Grim Up North website either. It's my first year running (after doing the Couch to 5k last year), so I wasn't aware this was their first year of holding this race. I kind of hoped somebody might have done it before.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to reply - I'll post again when I've done it and let you know what the route was and the total elevation.

Cheers!

Well, I did the race and came in 3rd place! Mega chuffed with that. As for the route, it was basically 3 miles uphill followed by 3 miles down again - not a single flat bit (barring g the first and last 50 metres or so).

Extremely hard work, but I enjoyed it. I've got another 10k trail race in Northumberland at the beginning of December (Kirkharle). I'm hoping that's not as hilly!

Got something to say?
