Nelly Apr 2019 1:30pm, 4 Apr 2019 3,878 posts	0 Nelly The route has actually changed every year since 2015... and will be changing again in 2020 after this announcement manchestereveningnews.co.uk which says the route will include a 3-mile loop of the city centre. I am a little torn about whether this latest announcement is good or bad... Manchester City Council have previously shown no interest in having the event pass through their area of control (they flatly refused requests in the early years)... this is in direct contrast to Trafford Council (and the inhabitantants of Trafford) who have been very supportive of the event for the past 8-years. And from a running perspective I suspect it will result in (slightly) more elevation than previous routes.

Its partly attractive as a very flat very fast race. I am sure they will have that at top of their minds in redesigning route.....hopefully.
Nelly Apr 2019 1:48pm, 4 Apr 2019 3,879 posts	0 Nelly From my first plots of the city centre loop (noting the whole route doesn't seem to have been released) here on Fetch, it could potentially add approximately 25% extra elevation to the route. So whilst it will still be realtively flat and fast, it just won't be as flat as previous versions.
