That was Thursday night McG. I managed to get a couple of tickets for an instore gig and signing session last night so I kept her off school and took her back to London for it. Far more cultural than doing RE on a Friday and an experience that will live long in the memory.

Were Marmozets really a bit shit??? I sort of fell in love with her due to Reading footage a couple of years ago, and may have a mild obsession......
Baxter Drury seems like a really bad cover band of his dad to me.

Just wondering what price everyone is prepared to pay to go to a gig? Muse tickets went on sale for Bristol Ashton Gate this morning and I immediately balked at the prices. By the time I got to the front of the queue, the cheapest ticket was £96 and it wasn't a great seat either! I'd love to see them but I'm not that desperate.

Two comments Postie,
I wouldn't sit.
I'd put a value against each band. Muse I would go up to £30. I know that means it is very unlikely I will get a ticket unless someone is desperate to shift them on late in the day bit I'm ok with that.
I can't think of anyone at the moment who I'd pay more than £50 to go and see and I'd rather eat my own arms than buy a ticket from viagogo.

If I was going by myself, I'd stand. Mrs P doesn't do standing so my hands are tied there she's the big Muse fan in the house. I like them a lot but not as much as her. Bit like me tagging along to Blur gigs with Mrs P in recent years. From my recent experience of gigs, the cheapest ticket for a band of Muse's standing in the industry at a stadium concert would be £50 to £60, which is my limit.

Merry Christmas and Happy NewG(rrr)
What's it like going to a gig by yourself? I don't think MrsS(rrr) will be bothered but I want to see Chvrches at the Hydro in Glasgow in Feb. Tickets are only £27 which seems very reasonable. Haven't been to a gig that wasn't a sort of wandering around festival type thing for years. Wonder what it's like this century?! G

Nearly all my gig going is a solitary thing, I like it for the freedom to arrive and leave when I like and move around within the venue. But then again, I like my own company, not too many arguments that way
