Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Never been to the assembly hall, I’m going in Jan to watch Afflecks Palace.

I saw BC Camplight in Nottingham last night, I wasn’t t ha bothered about going and was feeling a bit sorry for myself because I was missing Idles with chief and Hendo. But, he was awesome, great presence and a brilliant band with him. Really great night with a crowd of nerdy 6 music enthusiasts!

I had a great time seeing Soft Cell at Hammersmith Apollo on Monday.

First time I had seen Soft Cell. I not a great fan of 80's music, but Marc Almond is a great live singer.

I love Skinny Lister! My first ever gig was seeing Skinny in Camden, with a brief appearance from Frank.

Skinny, Frank and Beans are the three I've seen the most since then, though within a year of starting going to gigs, lockdown hit, so my timing was quite bad. (Like, about 30 years late. But still...)

Chief was there too Linds. I saw Working men’s club and Skinny Lister last week, both were excellent.

This week it’s Life in Nottingham, Sleaford Mods in Bristol and a benefit gig in Sunderland featuring, Field Music, Futureheads, Frankie and the heartstrings and Roxy girls.

I am seeing The Darkness tomorrow at Exeter Uni's Great Hall. Not everyone's cup of tea I know, but I quite like them :) I haven't heard of the support before (Massive Wagons) but a quick search around the other day and they seem good.

(As an aside, Justin Hawkins has got an amusing, fairly new, YouTube channel where he talks about music-related stuff. Not sure if you guys are into music production etc, but Rick Beato's YouTube channel is very good especially his 'What Makes This Song Great?' series, where he usually (somehow!) gets access to the stems so he can isolate the drums, guitars, vocals etc in Pro Tools, and because he has permission from the artists or record label, his videos don't usually get blocked. It really is very good. Justin Hawkins is possibly trying to be a UK version of that, but has some way to go yet!).

Not my thing Big G but it’s what you like that counts. Enjoy!
