That's the nice thing about fells - when they stop going downhill, so do you. Who cares about sheep, bracken, stone walls, other runners, really bad paths.... Oh. Um. Yes.
I like running fast downhill - only chance I get to overtake people.

Hello It's been very quiet on here lately.
How's everybody's training going? Hanging onto mine by the skin of my teeth due to the school holidays (in Scotland anyway). Did 13 miles a week last Friday, managed to get to the gym last Tuesday, then did 14 miles yesterday. Really need to try and get out more. My pace has gone right down as well Still trying to lose the 7Lbs that's crept on over the past 8 months as it's really affected my pace - Finding it so difficult to shift. Ah well I'm keeping positive and hopefully will get back in the swing of things.
Hope you are all well and training is going according to plan

Keep it up plb!
My calf has recovered, but I put on a few lbs in the five weeks I was out of action. I'm now training again despite the heat and next marathon will be Abingdon on 20th October. No target as yet, but hopefully it will be slightly faster than I was at Manchester in April, particularly if I can get a bit thinner. I did eventually join a running club, but the jury is still out on that one.

I've had to withdraw from Chester today looking at my training its not going to happen this year and I wonder if a GFA for 2016 is a distinct possibility we shall see but marathons are the last thing on my mind at present.
If anyone wants to do Chester fmail me and we can do the transfer thingy

Thanks m-t. If I can just kick start things then I'll feel so much better.
Glad to hear your calf issue has cleared up. My next marathon is Loch Ness at the end of September to which I'm hoping for a PB. I've been thinking of joining a running club for some time now, the only problem is, my running has to revolve around family commitments. Having two young daughters and a husband that works night shift with different nights each week, it would be impossible for me to commit to a set time each week. I also prefer running on my own, as for me it's chill out time. I've always thought it would be nice to meet and get to know other runners in my area though.
Sorry to hear that N-o. As m-t says, it's still some time away from 2016. Hope things start improving for you soon.

Morning, folks.
Well I'm back to running regularly an the fitness is slowly coming back but I'm afraid that after my little incident I'm out of Project 2016.
I don't have any will to do another marathon any time soon so I'm going to wish you all well with your training and your plans and I'll keep an envious eye on your successes. Good luck, everyone.

Well, don't take undue risks, but 2016 doesn't really count as "anytime soon". Good luck anyway.

I'm afraid that after major domestic negotiation, this is out for me too - there's only enough time for one marathon runner in the house and that's him
(this will, of course, change completely if I get a VLM place ;-))
