Hi to everyone. I'm a newbie, desperately trying to get back into the swing of things with running after having my first baby last August. Finding it difficult with confidence as went back to club running 5 weeks ago and I ran like sack of potatoes! So thought I would drop a post for some inspiration particularly on nutrition and ideas to get back into shape. I'm only about half a stone off old weight but I feel soooo heavy and unfit. I had used a gym since baby was 6 months, but baby kept picking up EVERY bug and virus and this became counterproductive as I endured massive sleep deprivation now I try and fit something into my day. Apologies for my 'ramble'.

Try the 30 day shred, a 20 minute work out DVD which is easy to fit into your day, it got me back into shape!

The 30 day shred worked for me too, after no2 and its a quick workout so easy to fit in. Eat well, drink well and just build up gradually, you can do this :-)

Thanks had a look on YouTube and there is a 20 min session. Looks good similar to Metafit sessions that I've done in the gym. Will have a go this week in between squeezing out a run etc. Perhaps when my body starts to feel my own again things like pace etc will improve. Even better if the 30 day programme works :)

I really must dust down Jillian, or I could stop stuffing my fat face?!

Did parkrun today, 25.36. Wee bit disappointed but it was rather windy on the outward stretch (and I was chatting to Smout, a lot)

Well I'm still 1m45sec behind on my 5k time...need to swap long and slow for a lot more speed now that the marathon and relays are over. We will all get there :-)

We will. My avatar pic is of me six months post no 1. I had a period of a month of pb'ing every race I ran. Those were the days. X

Popping in to say hi as I am trying very hard to get fit again after pregnancy :-)

Oliver is 10 weeks now. Still suffering from Pelvis Girdle Pain/SPD which started at 20 weeks pregnant. I've noticed a slight improvement over the last few weeks as the glute and core strength is coming back. Back pain is much better than it was last week but hip flexors and SI joint are still painful. I'm doing some static cycling, a bit of outdoor cycling, swimming, very short easy runs, buggyfit classes and lots and lots of core and rehab type exercises as and when the little man and life allows. Physio says that improvement in pain levels and mobility should come within the next month or two as the relaxin leaves the body and core strength continues to improve.

Did a Parkrun at 6 weeks pp, foolish idea but I wasn't really thinking rationally at the time. Was pleasantly suprised with 27.30 and that I wasn't as unfit as I feared I would be and from then I have been happy to step back and take a far more sensible approach and definitely no more Parkruns until the pelvic pain settles.

Still 10 lbs over pre pregnancy weight but it's been coming off fairly easily so far at a pound or two a week which I'm hoping will continue. Quite a relief after putting on 3 and a half stone in pregnancy! :-O I have been getting a lot hungrier in the last couple of weeks since milk supply has seemed to increase and I have upped the exercise so the last 10 lbs may take a bit more willpower than it has so far.

Not making any race plans yet until I know when I will be able to run fully again. I'm happy enough cross training at the moment as it's still early days but would love to be in a position to be able to get back to Parkrunning and looking to do a longer race within a couple of months so fingers crossed for a happy pelvis once more.

hello :-)

sorry to hear your still sore Krissie. I've not done much, the mastitis/thrush/general BF'ing is stopping me getting out. By the time I get them both to bed. Maybe I am making excuses but I am trying to sensible.

I'm really struggling with my weight. I'm at pre labour weight, it's horrible, my tummy and legs are huge. Krissie what have you been doing? Any top tips? You are doing great :-)

I'm starting to adjust my expectations, first time I didn't BF so it was much easier plus I only had the wee man to look after. It's just a bit tricker now. Plus my OH has got the marathon bug - damn him ;-)
