well done, things are so much nicer after a good birth, aren't they!!! My first ever mara was an autumn one (Amsterdam) and i liked running lots in the summer. My hamstring has just started playing up so lets see howthe last few weeks of mara training go for me....

Ooh well done for making it through your schedule what marathon are you targeting?
In trying to run 3 miles/30. Mins every coupe of days baby/life allowing. Longest distance so far is 4 miles and I did parkrun in 27 mins which I am pleased about. I have a 10k on may 11th and I'm sure I can do the distance if I keep going as I am but no idea what the pace will be like. I'm not going to worry about it!!

I've just reached solid chunks of running in the c25K programme and have a pelvic/hip niggle so have booked some physio for tomorrow to find out what's going on.
But I've entered a triathlon at the end of August, I've started swimming again and my bike is currently being serviced, so even if the running needs to be put on hold for a week or two I've other things I can do

you are doing brilliantly KP. I did pretty much what you did, couple of parkruns and then a10k about 10 weeks after Remy, and I actually enjoyed that race although it had a massive hill in it....am running Milton Keynes, feeling nervous already but should be able to finish if all goes ok on the day, have done the highest mileage ever last month.... M4P - sorry to hear about the pain but hope physio can help and you can run/tri again soon

hello! anybody here??
I have signed up for my first proper race (eek!) it's 13 June.. Blackrock5.. it's 'approximately' 5 miles and involves running on sand out into the estuary and round a rock at low tide then back again (hence the approx distance).
I have a mountain bike marathon to deal with first (this weekend coming) then I guess I need to get serious about running. Calum was born on 31st August, I did C25k from October and ran parkrun just before christmas, since then it's been pretty sporadic to be honest - maybe one run a week Plan is to up that to three per week starting tomorrow and to train up to 10k distance (to make up for the sand)....
I'd be interested to hear when in the day other mums of smallish babies are running? I am trying to run home from nursery in the mornings on days when I am working at home (I am self-employed) but I can't do this on days I have meetings.. I get one run at the weekend quite easily... evenings are hard though as it's 8pm before Calum is down and I usually go to bed about 9 as he's still up once or twice a night. What do others do???

woo hoo, exciting!!! I generally run in the evenings (near the bed time for our boys, around 7pm) so hubby puts them down around 8 (this is2x a week with my running clubs) and then I do a long run at the weekend and any other runs i do with the running buggy usually, once i have dropped off the other two at school, it's not always easy but once you get into a routine you will be fine x

I go at lunchtime from work. Maybe that could work for you when you are working at home?

thanks mummyv
lyns that's not far from me at all. have you done it before? it's great!!!! you will have a blast - low tide? I've been thigh high in it and i'm 5ft 7 lol.
when I went back to work I ran to and from the office or very early in the day. I'd rock up to nursery in my running gear while all the posh mums were in their huge fancy cars, LOL. chances of me doing that with two is nil as the wee man starts school in august and we're in deep denial about the whole thing.
I did parkrun this week and took just over a minute off my time again, didn't feel as tired as last week - that'll be the mastitis clearing up. today me and mr got some time alone and went biking, it was ace. came back and babypie hadn't woken up. 9 weeks this week! I have a 10K this weekend in glasgow, I am so nervous! mostly about it being in glasgow. I don't know why I entered!
