OK - just wanted to confirm what I already thought was the case. Couldn't find a way to copy and paste the recovery sections or the bits that were repeated on the way back down again. It won't take long.

I quite fancy a Garmin with music for under £300 so it's 645, 245 or Vivoactive 4.
Tempted by the 645 music as it's cheaper, but any good reasons to avoid it?

Differences from DCR:
"Of course, at this point you may be trying to understand the difference between the Forerunner 245 and the Forerunner 645 series? No problems, here ya go:
– Forerunner 645 has a barometric altimeter (and thus better elevation metrics) – Forerunner 645 has stair tracking (due to barometric altimeter) – Forerunner 645 allows you to get Garmin Running Power (Stryd/RunScribe works with FR245 fine though) – Forerunner 645 allows more custom data pages – Forerunner 645 has Garmin Pay contactless payments – Forerunner 645 has a fancier silver looking bezel – Both Forerunner 645 variants have WiFi (whereas only FR245 Music has WiFi)"

There's likely other differences now as I believe the 645 isn't getting updates on the same cycle as the 2, 7, and 9. Don't think track mode is on the the 645 for example.

I’ve just bought a 745 and used it for the first time this morning. Haven’t looked into it’s music storage capability yet but will do soon. I like it so far.

The older chipset and lack of updates was the only thing against the 645 that I could tell. 646m was £189, 245m £258 and VA4 also about £250.
I do quite like the idea of track mode but in all honesty I'd only use it a couple of times a year, and the "body battery" stuff feels a bit gimmicky to me (though perhaps that's unfair).

The body battery stuff is gimmicky, and certainly not a reason to buy a watch; I look at it, but I wouldn't make any plans based on what it says, ever!

That updates cycle is weird. Just over a year ago I was deciding between 935 and a 945 and figured I didn't need the music of the 945 so saved a few quid by buying a 935. Since then, the 945 has had loads of nifty updates thrown at it whereas the 935 has had almost none.

I don't use music and would hate touch screen so 245 standard edition was perfect for me.
