Yeah my concern is my warranty and particularly the extended warranty. I’ll speak to JL before doing anything thanks so much.

Your 'contract' is primarily with the seller. I'd always go back to them in the first instance. Furthermore I certainly wouldn't be accepting a 'refurb' instead of a new replacement from Garmin on a watch under guarantee that's so fresh out of the box.

Thanks both that was my thought and good to know I’m on the right track. I’ll wait for JL to respond. I only contacted Garmin thinking it was maybe a software fix. I’ve had 5 models of Garmin over 12 years and never had a problem. This is the first one I’ve bought new 😳

Yeah, you've got a duff one. Pretty sure JL's warranty is with a new (or failing that ask for a full refund as not fit for purpose). Garmin will give you a refurb.

You may need to be forceful with JL. One of my kids returned a faulty laptop and they said there was water damage so the warranty was void. I had to get apple to certify that it was faulty and not water damaged before they'd replace it.

Thanks I have messaged them and said Garmin have confirmed it’s faulty I’ll ring today as well.

Ohhhh never seen a removed by moderator post before 😳

Just spoke to JL they are sending me a new Garmin and will be here tomorrow they confirmed i would invalidate my warranty and extended warranty if I opted for garmins replacement. Cannot knock their customer service at all. Although as I had done so much trying to fix it they were satisfied this was indeed faulty.

Amazing customer service new Garmin arrived today and it connected instantly. Hindsight I had a few connection issues back when my other one arrived just put it down to my technical inability.

Now to find the box for the old one and to get it sent back.
