Kenny Jackett and Luther Blissett at Watford was a particular low point. I hoped to never have to play Bournemouth again after those days ended. Kenny went on to be a decent boss later on, though. Luther not so much so. |

poor arsenal choice, no mention of George Graham, part of the 1971 double winning side AND won stuff as manager, but Arteta is in there, poor.

West Ham were managed almost continuously by former players from 1974 to 2001, 27 years. Lyall, Bonds, Redknapp. It was like the Anfield Bootroom, minus the success…..😀 The ‘almost’ is 7 months of Lou Macari between Lyall and Bonds, think he fell foul of tax dodging or something. |

At the mighty owls two spring to mind Howard Wilkinson and Trevor Francis (but since he was player manager then manager does he count). I suppose we also can lay claim to treating a former player in the crapiest way by sacking Derek Dooley on Christmas Day a player who lost his leg playing for use and would probably have gone on to be one of this country’s great strikers |

Nobby Horton is the only Albion example I can think of. His biggest Managerial achievement for us was to finish 91st in the Football League. He didn't have much to work with mind, seeing as we were playing home games in Gillingham at the time. |

Palace had a spell where it seemed only former players were considered for the manager’s role. It also helped if they’d managed us before.
