Piece in the Times about Gerrard and how he will eventually become manager at Liverpool. Start practicing, Stevie at the Wheel....
Which big name British players have become great managers at their old club?

Howard Kendall?
Kenny Dalglish?

Bobby Robson is the closest I can think of. However, though he managed Fulham and played there, his managerial record was forged elsewhere. There must be a number of Old Firm examples though.

There is a very long list of players who have done terribly as manager's at former clubs. Most were installed on a temporary basis though, often in dire circumstances. Alan Shearer comes to mind.
Anyone remember Thomas Brolin and Attilio Lombardo as interim coaches at Palace during the Goldberg debacle?
