He does realise that Villa don't get the same penalty to rangers help from the referees doesn't he?

He won’t get the Liverpool job after tombstone teeth unless he’s shown some ability managing in the Prem.

I would say there is more potential upside at Villa than following Rodgers at Leicester with that in mind.

I remain unconvinced by Gerrard.

He's either been a decent manager in a crap league, or flattered by Scottish football. I guess we'll all know in a few months time

I was at school with someone who played in the Palace youth team. After university, he played for St Johnstone but found he was better off playing for Dover Athletic so he came back south.

He must have been very low in the pecking order even at St Johnstone for that to be the case.

Steven Gerrard: I think that in a few months time he will see he has erred.
