If it just refers ti the right hand I'm *really* screwed :)

Thanks TRO - so I'm not way below 'normal'.

'Gently but steadily' sounds like sound advice - thanks jda.

The thread name change confused me greatly.

I'll re-ask my not really question from last night.

Is about 2mins v slow for a 25m kick drill with a float?

At least 2mins. The clock was broken, so I was using the normal clock to estimate. Somewhere between 2 and 3 mins for 25m kick.

Because I've got a good push off from the wall, I have good momentum for about 10-15m, so that's ok, but the last 2/3 I barely go anywhere.

I was counting the tiles on the floor....

When we used to do them at swimfit a few years back, everyone else would be halfway down their 2nd 25m before I'd finished the first one...

I’m an appalling swimmer, but for me that would be very slow fozzy. It’s just technique though.

The Pin Lady
Just back from the pool. Have decided this year to put some planning into my swims. So my Monday swim is purely distance (a mixture of breaststroke and front crawl - just keep going for about 40 mins) Hopefully this will build up my fitness.

Today's session was to focus on increasing my front crawl distance. I managed 3 x 100m front crawl (plus some 50m ). Total swum - about 700m. Trying to increase my confidence in covering the distance. Aim is to be able to do 100m comfortably by the end of January. (ie not reach the end and need a long break before I start again).

I'm also a very slow swimmer but not looking to gain speed until I can do distance.

Name change seemed right Fozzy - this group has been getting more active recently but we've had lots of new visitors since the change, so hopefully it was the right thing.

Why is swimming so hard? Was broadly descriptive of the thread though...

I can grind to a complete halt in my kickboard attempts (I used to literally go backwards, so that's an improvement). So no I wouldn't count 2 mins as slow, though it probably is quite slow really I'm afraid to say.
