Is there anything else I ought to know about fetchpoint as a newbie about to complete her first week?

I found that I didn't start making progress until I was able to do longer distances cycling, on top of my walks, with which it was hard to score points, even though I manage to walk my bug out of my circle daily, scoring the 200 point bonus. I have regular cycle routes now, bit boring, but I have planted and watered lots of flowers as a result and they generate my points so you can do the same running? Every time you water a flower it gains a point. If you pick up 10 x 20 points say on a 5 mile run, that starts adding up.

If you’re in an area where you can plant flowers, then they will eventually be good earners. You have to vary the positions you are at half mile intervals so as to get new flowers as much as possible. Getting the new bug every day will get you the bug bonus of 200 on top of the bug score. When I was playing efficiently I mostly just cleared the bug and did most of my activity outside the circle.

Can get quite a density of flowers. I didn’t plan very well but do have some nice clusters going on:

Ok well I’m planning a mega run round my area tomorrow! Let’s see how that effects my total!
Thanks for the advice Hann and JCB

You should be planting 1 flower per half mile. They are worth a point each. Every time you run over them you water them, adding a point. This accumulates rapidly! Enjoy!

The watering is a bit more complicated than that, Hanneke. Every day after you planted a flower, or last watered it, the chance of you watering it on passing by go up by 1/7, until after the seventh day. On the seventh day and after that the chance remains at 7/7, or 100%. If there is a flower already there, you receive a planting point, but no flower is planted. You can only have one flower in a spot. Hence, JCB's point about varying the positions of the flowers you plant. I do this by varying my path out of my circle, so that the half mile points fall in different places more than if I took the same path every time.
