Ok I’m confused, I know it says in the guide that sometimes the gps can be wonky but I ran right through my bug and it’s still there, now what? Do I have to run/walk/ride through it again?

The GPS trace on the map is joining a series of coordinates together, so to get the bug one of the points that your device measures needs to be in the circle.
Are there two points either side of the circle with a straight line connecting them going through the circle?
I think Garmin devices have a "smart" mode that doesn't record as many points if it thinks you're going in a straight line to save battery, which could have an effect.
