I get my bug most days. If I'm out for the day I try not to fret about it and just collect two the next day. We had a few extra players when there were new badges on offer but they seem to have drifted off again. I still think it's the best game on fetch ( probably the world)

magnumpti, I think you're right. I don't know if it's linked to the seasons of the year or to lockdowns or just a random thing, but I think sometimes 10,000 points is enough for a top ten place and sometimes you'd be lucky to be thirtieth with 10,000 points.

I was in about 12th at 10,000. Like others, got there for the badge/interest as part of a general motivation to get out the door and since let it go and don't look at bugs at all.

I've been playing and enjoying this more or less since it started and, as a result of the increased opportunities for local exercise since I started working from home, I've been bug free (bar a few days last summer when I hurt myself and couldn't get out) for a year or so. It has, however, become a habit that I need to break - I even went so far as to relocate my circle and ensure my bug was on the race route when running a marathon a couple of weeks ago. Perfectly within the rules but not really in the spirit and suggestive of an unhealthy 'need'.

The streak will be broken tomorrow - I'm going to be out all day and am not sure where I'll be - so I can't pre-place my bug. I shall, similarly, be tailwalking an event on Sunday so won't have a chance to run at home. This means I'll have three bugs to collect after work on Monday. Hopefully, I'll be able to cope with the broken streak without suffering too much by way of withdrawal anxiety - I'm off on a walking holiday at the end of next week and don't want to feel a need to move my circle/bug daily while I'm away. I'll report back on how it goes.

I’ve moved my circle out of habit and marked bugs in the lake as inaccessible- then ignored them and not gone to squish them to avoid confusing mum.
Andy, do you tail walk following the racers or challengers? Im sure you’ll catch me before the end either way, look forward to meeting you :)

Rosehip - we leave when the final starter goes (so that it'll be the race) and stay behind whoever happens to be the last person out on the route - usually an over-ambitious race entrant. Because of the time we lose gathering some of the signage, we often get left behind by everybody. I'll look out for you in the morning :)
