Are bugs only removed by picking them up and then running out of my circle? Please someone help this newbie 🙏 😊

Pass over them and they become infected and turn yellow. The penalty for whoever the owner is goes up. You also get points for infecting them (each time you do it, actually). So, unless you really want to inflict pain on your local rivals there’s no need to worry about green / yellow bugs at all 😀.
