Zwift is a computer program where you can be on a turbo trainer or treadmill and it shows you video images of a route and you race against other “zwifters”. It also means that you can be in a garage in Mundania riding a turbo trainer but the GPS track uploaded to fetch shows you have been riding in Central London and scoring fetchpoints (or penalties)

If I wake up and see a central London traffic light, I jump on a train and run to tag it (yes I’m that sad/dedicated) whereas somebody on zwift could load up the Box Hill segment in their garage and also get it.

That doesn't seem very fair (but thank you for explaining)

Hmmm. Not really a 'fair' way of competing for points ... locate a spot with the a potential for high points, and don't bother going further than the computer. A traffic light popped up on a road I use quite regularly and as I'd need to do a sizeable detour to miss it, I went and ran through it at the earliest opportunity. There are few fetchpoint players round here, but I might be miffed if I were givng points to someone who'd never actually been up the road once let alone going back to maintain the ownership.

That said, I'm happy to have folks have and hold the opposing view :-)

[Mind, there's at least one stretch of motorway festooned with fetchpoint flowers ... :-o :-( ]

Luckily I live in a boring part of London so I can't imagine anyone wanting to pretend to cycle round here ;-)

Fizz :-)
Does Zwift only have certain routes though? Or could you "go" anywhere?

When I go on zwift I always go for a random surprise route so no pre meditation of point scoring involved. Didn't even realise it would register with this game

Fetchpoint automatically excludes untampered Biking Zwifts. I can probably do the same with runs too.

After one of my central London runs a while back I ran the View Flyby on strava to find that there was what appeared to be a cycle race going on at the same time. Really odd I thought until the matter of Zwift was discussed on the Conquercise thread. Thankfully Fetch took action and zones can no longer be claimed. Maybe Fetch can cancel out Zwift gains on FetchPoint too?

I've just added Running > Zwift, and if the FIT files we receive contain the relevant info, any Zwift runs should be categorised as such, and also ignored. Previously it was just the cycling. Will they do swimming next? You could go anywhere in your own bath.
