it's only a game played against lots of people you don't know on the internet, it's not like cutting a corner at a race!
If it's a road that's dangerous to run on then yes in my view it's a very good reason. I've seen it argued against that someone on a bike might go through that area and one shouldn't take away opportunities for those folks. I'd default to my earlier paragraph in response......for most of us Fetchpoint is just a bit of a personal challenge / motivation, it certainly shouldn't drive any other behaviours!!

If you wouldn't normally run there then it's inaccessible.

I have off road areas where I would not be comfortable to run so mark those as inaccessible, safety is more important than points.

Your circle, your bug, your rules...... if you cant safely access it it's inaccessible.

GingerRev - The game can be brutal in London if you don't plan your route. There is an 80 pointer on my direct run to work outside Blackfriars station which I am determined not to get pinged by.
However if you can get the traffic light first you can sit at your desk and earn 80 points while someone ran 10k (Thanks if you went past Temple/Embankment)

I have marked bugs as inaccessible on roads where they are just too dangerous. Someone might run there but I'm not risking life and limb to squish a bug.

I currently have one bug in my circle, on a road i would never run down, day or night. But I could cycle down there (definitely wouldn't at night) so I was hoping to get on my bike at the weekend.
I have been umming and ahhing over whether to mark it as inaccessible as it is costing me dearly in fetchpoints. But people can and do cycle that way, there is even a strava segment... so it's not really inaccessible is it? I would never run down there in a month of Sundays, but cyclists play too.

Interesting feedback guys. Seems like the majority would mark as inaccessible and to be fair there's no evidence of other Fetchies running or cycling through that bit of my circle (at least not ones that are playing Fetchpoint) so it's not going to impact anyone else so I'll mark it as inaccessible.
I did give the headtorch a go tonight and the conclusion is it's meant for other people to see me rather than lighting my way as it wasn't bright enough to see my way properly (I did test it in a small area that I could probably run around with my eyes closed for a safe test!). I also didn't check the map properly and missed the one bug I could have got so not the most successful of outings :D

Guys, it's only a game and there aren't any real prizes for getting points. Play how you want

I've been playing since 1st Jan, this game is really addictive!! I'm down in London on Thurs/Fri on business (staying in Old St) - now trying to pick out a running route that avoids all the fetchpoint traffic lights - it's like the Congestion charge for runners
