I will def keep you posted @TheScribbler as I love to catch up / run with you too. (& it’s my friend not a formed who has a sauna) looking forward to it today.

So the damage on the scales is in I am up 3.8 since coming back from holiday. I initially lost 1.5lb but put them back so I didn’t formally record that as I feel it was a blip.

Feeling focused so let’s see. 4 weeks today to op (all being well) and I know not exercising will add to the issue so aiming to get some good habits in over the next 4 weeks.

I've just been for my first work lunchtime run and it was so lovely to get out in the sunshine, even if it was very cold and I had to dodge lots of walkers on the footpaths.

I work from home on Fridays and now that I get an hour for lunch and the culture is more relaxed about working hours, it felt good to take the opportunity. Hopefully more of this to come. I've realised that it's much a change of my mindset as it is a change of workplace.

The mindset change is so true a lot of my work angst is me, I don’t have the pressure from work that I put on me. Lovely that you could manage a run… maybe one way for us to meet up post my op!

Bearing in mind New Year weigh ins are affected by Christmas: ended up with a 3kg loss for the year! But it went from the wrong side of a big line to the right side, and I'm not going back. Making plans with friends to get walking again. Still overwhelmed with death admin like house clearing, but I've dropped a work day to make more time for Life. I will gradually ease back into getting healthier again!

Lizzie you had the hardest year ever and being kind to yourself and dealing with what you have to comes first.

Yes eating healthy for your health and wellbeing is important but a number on the scales is not.

I’m glad work has flexed to help you deal with everything. Your fetch fam send you love and strength x

Lizzie - good to hear you're taking a day to yourself, give you a chance to have a bit more time to deal with things.

GG & Lip Gloss - photos and measurements, that's a serious start.

Morning, all.

My 10K training programme is underway! My goal for January is just to run regularly, twice a week, alongside other types of exercise. This morning I ran for 21 minutes on the treadmill at the gym, covering 1.5 miles. Next planned run is Thursday.

Today is also the start of my New Year fasting programme which will run for 7 weeks, until we go away for Mr’s birthday. Two complete days of fasting to star the week (I don’t plan on eating again until lunchtime on Wednesday), then out of Thursday/Fri/Sat, either one or two (but ideally two) of those days I will eat only once meal. All other days, I will eat two meals. Predominantly lower carb real food.

Alongside this, my intention is to give up sugar……

We are still eating up the Christmas goodies, but in a few days they will be gone. The plan is - just don’t buy any for me to eat!! I will continue with very dark (85% or above) chocolate, but probably phase that out as well.

I am a sugar junkie. Give me any, and I so easily lose control.

I am telling myself it is just for today/this week/this month. But I did that with buying cream at the end of November, and I still haven’t bought any cream.

At the moment my weight is hovering just over 14 stone. First interim target is 13st 7lb, which I hope I might reach by the time we go away (7 weeks today). But that’s just a rough estimate, not a hard and fast target. The important thing is to eat the way I know is healthy for me, follow my fasting schedule, do my exercise etc, one day after another.
