RevB - great post. You are highly motivated to achieve your goals and already you are enjoying the benefits of what you've achieved so far. Fabulous.

You are so in the right mind frame RevB it’s good to see and I feel your goals are achievable as you say it’s about health and for the long term. I’ve pinned your post maybe something you can do and refer back too when you have days that try to sideline you. I have come down with a cold it’s a very irritating cough that hurts my throat, my throat feels like something is stick lower down, my head is banging and I feel like I’ve done a couple of rounds in a boxing ring. It explains why my run felt so hard yesterday (as well as the wind) today I’ve mostly slept and I did get out for a nice woodland walk for some fresh air but walking up a hill you’d think I’d never walked before let alone anything else. Coach said take time off but it’s so close to my big event I’m scared - but I need to shift it sooner rather than later so I’ll behave. Walking is time on feed and better than nothing. I jumped on scales before I got in the bath earlier and I was same weight as my morning weight so hoping that may mean I’ve got a loss coming up. We’re having steak and homemade oven chips mushrooms and peas tonight I’m ready for it after not eating much today Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend. |

Parkrun 31.22min. Legs felt stronger but the wind just killed me. Try again next week. Day 13 iron ✅ think I found that one the easiest or maybe I'm getting stronger. 💪🤔 |

Well done Pam, good you can feel your legs are getting stronger. Nothing you can do about the weather. Geordiegirl - sorry to hear you're poorly, but better now than just before your ultra. Good you're following coach's advice. Don't worry about any missed training, you want to be healthy on that start line. Use your time now to rest up, maybe do those packing/kit lists for your ultra. I've heard the PT that did my gym review is leaving. The gym staff never stay as it's a council run leisure centre and they don't pay well enough to keep staff. That just leaves one girl working in the gym for now. I'm hoping I can get on the body analyser before he leaves, I don't really want a review as I'm still not able to progress to any new exercises for now. I've had to shorten my upper body sessions as 50 minutes was too much and niggling my back, now doing 30 min sessions and dropped one exercise that I think wasn't helping. I'm still able to trash my legs, which I'm doing twice a week. |

Shades even though it's nice to have expert guidance it sounds to me you already know what works best for you.

Pam runs you're right. I actually want to show him that he was wrong, he told me to eat 1800 calories a day (I'd starve on that and not be able to improve muscle %) and to switch to oat milk! Oat milk is UPF and has less protein than cow's milk. Saying that I'm hoping I have reduced my fat%, I think I have. I've dropped 1.4kg now in 3 weeks, although weight loss is not my priority, fat loss is. He is a nice guy though and for guidance on exercises/technique he's very good. |

That’s such a shame Shades, but you are very motivated and I am sure you’ll smash your goals but understand that having someone to run things by/get some guidance from (& help them learn as you do it) is nice to have. I hope you get your analyser session in. The whole thing with people pushing oat/nut milks as healthy is also annoying too. |

geordiegirl how are you today, feeling any better? I should still be able to get on the analyser even if PT is too busy with PT sessions before he leaves, as there is a girl working in the gym. Once I've had the 2 follow up reviews ( I don't want a review from the girl but happy just to have the analyser) then after that we now have to pay for the analyser £5 a time. But I don't mind paying as it's important to me to monitor fat loss and it will be every 4-6 weeks. My Renpho scales at home don't measure fat accurately, I didn't expect them to be able to do so. Neither did I expect them to be so far out.🤣 |

Feeling awful Shades, only 2 days in and I’m totally fed up. It’s a gorgeous day to go for a run typically. My Renpho scales does all the facilities measurements but I don’t expect them to be accurate esp giving the price of them, I am happy them showing a trend, that said I would love to know my real stats. |
