Plenty of Madeira cake and wine in Madeira. Pretty cheap to eat out and as Nr says, cafés are good value too.

I had savoury pancakes, made with buckwheat flour and filled with spinach, cheese and egg. Absolutely delicious!

We had pancakes, the traditional way with lemon and sugar. I only made half a batch (50g flour, 1 egg and 150ml milk) and shared them with Mr - spiked my blood glucose something rotten, but it’s only one day a year.

Swim Monday morning, gym yesterday, swim this morning. Then planning on gym tomorrow, swim Friday (when I will do more lengths as Mr won’t be there) then Functional Fitness on Saturday.

Obessessive, moi?

No pancakes with my mum either. We were too full from dinner!

I went for my first swim in an indoor pool since Covid this morning. Shared a lane with two other ladies very amiably.

I have a touch of PF in my foot after running on a treadmill yesterday, so I’ll have to find a cross training alternative for the rest of the week and hope to do parkrun on Saturday.

No pancakes here yesterday - wasn't even aware it WAS pancake day!

TheScribbler - sorry to hear about the PF (thought I might have a touch last week but decided in the end the foot was just bruised from 'wearing in' my new shoes).

RevBarbaraG - plenty of swimming going on I see. I've got out of the habit of going to my local pool to do lengths - I did for a short while so must look at their timetable again and see what sessions they run these days. Unfortunately, the 'other' (wink ..) swim that I do go to, is currently not running due to lack of lifeguards.

A slow 2ml walk this morning with Mrs WM - there's a National Trust property called Croome about 30mins drive away which we visit so often, I tell them I could do with a loyalty card.

Driving to Herts tomorrow to see my Mum in the afternoon - so will take my sports gear with me and try and fit in a fast walk in the evening before I eat like I did last week. And hope I can get a healthier alternative at Oxford Services so I don't have to eat at the Beefeater.

@WtnMel I have always enjoyed swimming. Some people find swimming lengths boring…. for me, it is meditative, and I like it. I also like going (or doing my exercise more generally) first thing in the morning, as then you’re done for the day. Although the Apple Watch does encourage you to keep on moving at intervals through the day.

Our leisure centre pool has lane swimming each weekday morning until 9am. The start is either 6am or 7am, depending whether the swimming club is in or not. But the chances of me wanting to get in there before 7am is approximately zero, so there is no need for me to internalise the information.

Day 3 of my attempt at🥊 exercises. Felt it this morning, in a good way, in my side back flabby area. Got to be positive.

No pancakes yesterday but we got up with the gloripus sunrise this morning to do a 5k run/walk along the seafront. Breakfast on St Valentine's Day was pretty healthy apart from the glass of cava! 🤣
