Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I expected to gain this week - I have been such a pig. Surprisingly, I've stayed the same again. Hoping to find some self control from somewhere before the next weigh-in.

I saw a gain on the scale after my mini-break up north, but it’s gone back down again giving me a 2nd week of STS. I’ll take that :) but need to try harder now.

No big weight change since the start. So I have bought a large dress for the wedding and it looks quite nice on. Just need to find shoes that will fit over swollen foot.

Back home after 5 nights away with friends. The breakfast-pushing and constant offering of desserts and cakes and meals out, in the context of going swimming twice and frequent walking have come out at half a pound gain since last Sunday. This morning I’m exactly the same as the average of last week’s weight, so if I eat sensibly today, I should go down a bit tomorrow, which will mean a small loss for the week. I’m on a course all day where I take my own packed lunch, so basically as long as I steer clear of the biscuits I should be OK. Having said that, we stopped at a farm shop on the way home and stocked up on biscuits.....

Those of you struggling with stress eating (who doesn’t?), have you thought about giving mindfulness a go? Clinically proven to reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, and consequently the associated dysfunctional coping behaviours.

Whatever willpower I had in last 6 months of last year has diminished and have been wondering if it is stress related (work has gone a but mad and I've started stressing about life in general!) Maybe time to go back and look at why food is such a crutch!

Disappointing week. Up 1lb this morning after 5 days of hitting calorie/protein/carb/fat count exactly plus 3 boot camp, 2 core, 2 spin classes + 2 PT sessions :-( Am at least getting stronger in core & legs & did feel as if I had more energy in classes at the start of the week but there are still a few stone to go so no time for complacency.

Today’s weekly email tells me I lost 0.3lb compared to the previous week. It gives me an encouraging message - don’t let a few pounds get you down, success is just around the corner. I think I’m supposed to be disappointed with that result - but given I was away with friends, I am more than happy.

Also happy that this morning’s weight was down compared to last week’s average, so a good jumping off point for this week. I’ve been for my morning walk, it was stunningly beautiful with frost and mist on the racecourse but bright sunshine and a little wispy cloud above.

On the downside, I seem to be starting a cold.

Morning all

Have reset the spreadsheet - well done to those who lost over the last couple of weeks.

Will be back on top of the spreadsheet after this weekend (daughters wedding this Friday).

No where near where I wanted to be weight wise - being ill, having a poorly mum, and being injured scuppered that but on a positive at least I haven't put any weight back on.

Morning.
I am holding steady at the moment. I mainly wanted to lose some weight to help improve my cycling this year but I went out for a lovely bike ride yesterday and I was surprised that, without trying, I beat some of last year's strava segment times, even though I am currently heavier. While I know shifting the weight would obviously help, I don't feel quite so pressured now - which is a huge relief TBH.

MM - I'm impressed you've managed to keep things on an even keel with everything you've got going on - that's got to be a win! Have a fabulous day on Friday.

Hope the cold clears off pronto Rev.
