I've just had smoked salmon and cheese and now dulce de leche truffles and champagne! A momentary lapse, back to low carbing tomorrow :-)

I've had a New Year's Eve sugar binge :-O. My blood sugar is horrible.

There, that feels better getting that out of my system. It's a new year very, very soon. And I'm not doing that again.

Getting on the scales was a somewhat sobering experience :(

I have put on 10lbs since 18th November and am now at the weight I was on 1st Jan 2012.

This is what happens when I don't weigh daily and eat without restriction

Oh dear, RH..... but that means you know what to do :-)

Thanks to last night's sugar rush I start 2017 slightly over rather than slightly under 16.7. However, I am more than 3 stone lighter than I was at the start of 2016, nearly a stone lighter than 2015, heavier than 2014 and 2013, but lighter than every single year for about 20 years. It could be worse.

My New Years's Resolution is to stay sugar-free (by which I mean added sugar, including things like honey, maple syrup). There are only two permitted exceptions:

1) Communion wine - a bit of an occupational requirement, but so disgusting I would never drink it for pleasure;

2) The small amount of sugar in an occasional square or two of 85% or above dark chocolate. That is so bitter and rich, I don't want much.

So, Happy New Year, one and all - and don't forget to enjoy the running!

For some unexplained reason, I've lost 2.5lb since Boxing Day, despite eating mince pies, Christmas cake and chocolate and drinking alcohol. I start the year at 12.3.5, the lowest I've been on NYD, as far as I recall, since 2003.

Oops. 74.5kg this morning up 1.5kg from 24/12. Too much ice cream. Time to get back on it.

Could someone add me to the link saying please? I can't seem to do it.

Haven't run much in the past 2 years due to foot injury, and have really piled it on! Jan 1st weigh in 194lbs / 88kg - a full 11kg heavier than my 2014 running peak :-o . Aiming to lose a pound a week, every week for 6 months, enabling me to fit into best suit for best friends wedding. Best of luck, fellow Fetchies!
