The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
Loved 24, it had everything! Really enjoyed Minardi's account of the beer marathon And Yumee... you rock girl! You ARE and runner, and a darn good one, I'm looking forward to hearing all about the ultra, good luck (not that you need it )
I was listening during my run yesterday, and if you've seen my blog you'll know I had some fast miles to do, and during one of those fast miles Katie made me laugh with the innuendo bit It's not easy laughing and pushing the pace at the same time, I nearly ran out of air!
I'll make sure I listen on an easier run next time
An end of year outtakes podcast would be great... start saving them up
*delurks* Thank you for your very kind words. I wasn't being needlessly self-effacing though - the only thing measured in races is your speed compared with others. By that measure, in any length race, I am mediocre. If there was a prize for trotting out quite a lot of pretty slow miles, I would be on the podium and would happily describe myself as among the best mediocre runners out there But I have been very touched by what Fetch and Katie and everyone on this thread has said. Next time I should run with Minardi - her race sounded ace! *zips lurk-suit back up*
Good luck with St Cuthberts Yumee, a club mate of mine is doing the full 100km. I'm up at West Highland Way as support crew / support runner again this weekend. Love WHW! And I really enjoyed your recording.
And Minardi's from Beer Lovers Marathon (sounded tough though) and Fetch, Elsie and Katie camping - you guys are hilarious! I was proper snorting on train listening to you all again. I could hear you must have cut out some major giggling fits!
Blog and thread highlights are really useful too. Thanks guys.
I’m intrigued by the 3100 mile Sri Chinmoy race (I saw the BBC article). 52 day ultra, doing laps of less than a mile I think? I was gonna mention it in the podcast. Have any of our listeners done any races with a psychological element that goes beyond “it’s a long way”?

1) find somewhere with minimal background noise 2) recording on a smartphone is fine 3) start with "Hello Fetchies, it's..." 4) a couple of minutes is a good length 5) don't worry about ums, aahs and pauses. We can edit them out. 6) email the file to podcast@fetcheveryone.com
