I'm only just getting back in to walking and my joints don't allow me to do too much, so if I were to scoot or maybe even bike and I logged it as walk would that be really really terrible? I'm always going to be at the back of the pack, it'd just be nice to get closer to the end than my walking might get me.

I've landed right outside St Margaret's this morning. It looks familiar. I'm fairly sure it's where my sister and BiL got married, 25 years ago this coming June. I must have some photos.

Sounds, interesting. Think it's going to be a while before I hit any familiar territory. π€ π

I fibbed. 24 years ago. I don't have any pics of the location that might not infringe people's right not to have photos of them whanged on the internet without their explicit permission.

Feels like Wacky Races. I'm currently on the heels of Lazy Daisy, Sigh & Fetch.

Pinks - I'm not going to pretend to represent anybody other than myself here but, from where I'm sitting, if you're happy with activities that aren't walks showing up in your log as walks then I have no issue with your suggestion. At the end of the day, this is a free and personal challenge - there are no (tangible) rewards other than a few virtual badges and nothing any of us does impacts anybody else in any way. Each of us will impose our own personal limits/conditions as to what does or doesn't count (or, more likely, what we can or can't be bothered logging) and all of those are fine by me - though I may tut to myself a bit at the idea of bike rides being logged as walks ![]() |

Interesting question, Pinks. Some virtual challenges are really strict and state that only running counts, while at the other extreme I am sure I did one where there was a list of equivalences published: so many miles for half an hour cutting the grass, so many miles for a basket of ironing. The Cathedral Challenge was designed for running and walking, but my own view is that it's there for motivation and entertainment (and not necessarily in that order!). So if you want be a bit relaxed about what you upload and categorise as a walk, that's really up to you. It might be worth looking at the Bike page to see if that is more suited to those particular activities that you mention, but assuming it's the run/walk route that interests you, then as long as you're not using the scooter to be the first finisher, I can't imagine anyone is going to mind too much. |

Lazy Daisy, Sigh & Fetch. Sounds almost as if Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich have got the band back together! ![]() |
