Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

For those of you not old enough to have played pub cricket, here are one set of the rules.

We used to play pub cricket. My dad knew the exact order of the pubs on the journey to my grandparents. There was a cricketers which had a picture of a match on the sign. We’d score 1 for each leg, arm or head (so 5 if a full person was pictured) but be out for inanimate objects or animals. Now sadly not possible due to motorways and dual carriageways.

Yes the British road network has changed pub cricket or just noticing other pub 'landmarks' on a journey, considerably.

We always used to pass a pub called 'The Nag's Head' which always led to various 'jokes' in the car at the expense of my mum!

I think I’m done. Fortunately I checked the list last night and noticed that the brown sign actually says a brown road sign so the wooden sign I snapped yesterday on a footpath was no good. All that’s needed now is to put together the blog

As the list-chooser for March I was running some of my ideas past BaronBR and he told me that something I'd thought was a really good one (with room for lots of creativity) was 'too high-brow'. Luckily I can ask the Fetchies I'm meeting up with on Saturday whether they agree or not before I decide whether it's definitely in or out!
