Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Ugh, yes I completely agree about the St Peter's low alcohol one. I had banished it from my memory!

I prefer Erdinger to Franziskaner in the normal versions, but prefer Franziskaner to Erdinger in the alcohol free versions.

Anyone visiting Ross-On-Wye should go the Tap House micro pub opposite Morrison's. Six real ales on tap that changes regularly, good selection of craft beers and gins if that's your thing. My new local 😀

Jury's out for me on Franziskaner v Erdinger alcohol-free; think I need to try them back to back.

I tried the alcohol-free Ghost Ship recently and it is strongly recommended if you like your beer hoppy; tastes quite convincing.

ION there's a bottle of Blandford Fly and a few Tributes lined up for the next time I drink beer with alcohol in. Blandford Fly is the sort of thing I disapprove of on principle but is rather good in practice.

Erdinger is ok great after an event. As a whole I do find most Alcohol free beer pointless.

I have started brewing my own. Actually produced some decent beer so far, to the surprise of everyone! First brew was a standard IPA, second was a Bourbon Porter (which I have very much enjoyed drinking) and currently brewing away is a Christmas Ale attempt (a Winter Ale recipe to which I have added Orange, Cinnamon and Nutmeg to it).

Ah HB, Sounds tasty. Are you brewing from raw ingredients or modifying kits?
I have brewed a version of a Woodford porter recently and it was decent, though lively.

Husband ordered a load of beer from Harvey's as a Christmas treat and is most miffed that it hasn't arrived yet - was supposed to be here yesterday.

I started with one of these: beerhawk.co.uk

Which I was given as a 40th bday present. I then used another recipe kit for the Bourbon Porter.

The Winter Ale is my first attempt at doing it "myself", so sourcing the ingredients separately and not having a recipe sheet. I say myself, the Homebrewing Reddit gang are incredibly helpful and one guy in particular there has been giving me pointers on what to do and, more importantly, what to avoid.

Even roped Mrs Bloom into making a caramel to put into this Christmas Ale attempt :-)

Thought I'd drop my head in here. No real ale as such, depends on your definition, but living on the Dutch / Belgian border does mean some rather nice bottled stuff. (The nearest shop to our house is at the Achel monastery, and is more beer than anything else)

The social group I run with on a Wednesday meet at a microbrewery. Their "Till death us do smoke" imperial smoked stout is really nice, but at 11.5% you aren't going to be drinking many of them!

I very much like the idea of a running group meeting at a brewery.
