A slightly longer couple of hours at Keswick V'rap was climbing MUCH better than me today. While I was looking like a sticky-out-arse-grunt-and-heave merchant, she looked like an actual climber
Warmed up a bit and led a gorgeous 6b later on, and once our forearms popped, we did a few 5s for endurance training.
Quite enjoying getting back into climbing

Sounds great. I bet you have amazing climbing centre down your way. Not to mention lots of climbing on actual rocks. I am unsure how you make the transition.
I imagine I climb like a particularly inelegant elephant. QP is annoyingly good and uses proper techniques totally naturally despite having limbs that have the appearance of bits of string with knots in them.

We're not really spoilt for indoor climbing here, halfpint. For a long time the only decent centre within reach was Kendal, which is more than an hour's drive each way. There was one just outside Keswick (it's still there), but it wasn't very good, with nothing higher than about 8 metres so the routes tended to be brutal to compensate - and the grading was chaotic. It's only recently that we've had a good facility in the centre of Keswick.
There *is* plenty of outdoor climbing, but it's soggy for chunks of the year.
Many climbing centres offer outdoor climbing training
Our young'uns climbed very nicely when they were nippers, and became spectacularly graceless when puberty struck and their centres of gravity went all over the place. Fellmouse, at least, became good again after she'd finished growing.

I am clearly still in the midst of puberty then As annoying as it is to be shown up by a 13 year old it is fantastic for him to have something he is truly good at. He perseveres at climbing in a way he rarely does in other situations.

that's good about your teen halfpint
and we'll be at the king kong wall in Feb (just booked a few days in Keswick)
I was pleasantly surprised to see myself climbing in the background of the BMC WCS film and looking reasonably graceful

Another solid couple of hours at Keswick. Climbed util my forearms hurt before we had and
Then climbed some more until my shoulders hurt. There's a 6c we have our eye on - bottom part was OK, top was scruffy and I failed to make the last move - a project. Also had a pop at a 7a that is on the auto belay route at the end. Managed the first six or so moves which was pleasing. Pinged of at just under half height. - another project
