Nice 1step! I had my first experience on an autobelay last week and it was less nerve wracking than expected! Now I have my own harness looking to do more on rope in addition to bouldering.

Back on it tonight. 1st time in 2 months. Took it steady to ease my injured knee back into it. All good.

Well, that was weird. Feeling mentally quite unwell. Forced myself to go. Lots of the routes have been reset. Slipped off the first new one I tried. Tried a few times, couldn't do it. Tried to do some routes I'd done before. Managed one. Froze near the top of another one then really struggled to get down. Almost in tears at this point. Decided to call it a day and just watched Billy. Had a bit of a break and went in the small room, which is also mostly reset. Things got better from then, but still climbed a bit like a brick with a lot of fear and palpitations. Managed most of the problems I attempted, but never as easily as I would expect for the difficulty. Managed 45 mins in total and feel a bit better, but fucking hell.

I often had those clunky horrible sessions when I’d had a tough day Linds. Climbing is mental in so many ways it’s not a surprise that feeling off affects the climb.

It happens Linds. Glad you took a step back, but carried on, climbing is as much a head sport as physical.
