It's not just accuracy. This was discussed previously and links posted about it. It does feel weird to not know what they do but it makes sense why they do it that way. I'd definitely be appealing it though as it does say most are done without human intervention and human intervention will happen in the case of a review.

I got 99.3% precision in my last game but it was about 50% book and 50% forced/obvious. Considering there are bots on the server anyway I wonder why it even matters? I suppose if people change strength abruptly it may be unfair. But so long as the ranking reflects the performance, it doesn't really change the game materially. It's not like there is much money or kudos in being 1500 rated or even 2200 rated (which none of us are). Sure at the very top end with prize money it matters.

Sorry Surelynot, I didn’t see your post until after I had posted. Our games always seemed entirely fair and good luck with an appeal.
I’ve had some high precision scores too, and sometimes the app and the website give 10% different precision assessments anyway!

Sorry to hear that Surelynot. I don’t like the idea of being judged by secret algorithms, but I guess it’s a sign of the times.
I see your wins against AFS have been awarded to them.

It would be interesting to know how the algorithms work, understand why it's not publicly available or actual cheats would adapt.
There are some very high standard players on the site, so simply playing well cant be the sole criteria. People study with computers, so computer like moves can be expected too. Particularly in daily where you are allowed book study but not an engine/computer I think must be very hard to identify correctly within that ruleset.
I got the impression it was effective in blitz at high levels, people beating GM's such as that Indonesian player recently who couldn't do it across the board.
In competitions where there is prize money, Simon Williams explained it can make a huge difference to an aspiring pro, even if the money doesn't seem much, a lot of them get by on very low earnings and small sums can be make or break.

Chunkywizard, I know it's easy to miss chat messages on the site so I'll ask here too - did you want to treat our current match as a league match if we end up in the same division in May or just leave it as a friendly? I'm happy either way.

I reckon the cheating algorithms are designed to detect anomalies, like your puzzle rating or live rating is way out of whack compared to your daily rating, or your accuracy suddenly goes from an average of 50% to an average of 95%. It probably logs if you download the game PGN during the game, and of course if your move aligns too often with that of chess engines best move.
Of course they're going to get it wrong every so often, but I guess that's the cost of running sites like that. Sucks if you're the one with the false positive, but might as well move on.

Hi Goofee, yes I did miss the message! Can I wait a bit until I'm up material to decide?
Let me give it some thought and I'll let you know by this evening
