Travel plans sounds good @RunningRonnie

Living in southern Hampshire, it's actually quicker and cheaper for us to go to France, although we did come up to Scotland two and a half years ago.

Our van is currently up for sale. We’re going to buy a smaller one to make it easier to get into towns and villages and park in normal car parks. Also, Mr Woo is 70 next year and won’t automatically be able to drive a 4 tonne van.

Thanks, Rosehip. I think it will take a while to sell our current one but you never know! We'll just keep using it until it sells though.

Pete has already spent hours and hours and hours looking at all the options online. We've looked at a few in the flesh and we're scheduled to go to two motorhome shows. I'm losing the will to live rapidly 😂

It will be one the same size as yours though.

@RunningRonnie you can always stop here on way to France.

We love France and Europe and obviously so easy for us being 5 mins from the port but want to visit more of the UK too. Fell in love with Scotland the in 2023 hence going back.

It's surprisingly easy to downsize as long as you leave out all the non-essential things. It was a shock to see how much we had fitted into our 8m motorhome - it filled our dining room. We have to do a bit more packing each time we go away as we no longer take *everything* away with us; we are more discerning and take just what we'll need.

I have two shelves in the garage - winter shelf and summer shelf, as long as we don't carry snow socks in summer or beach stuff in the winter there's plenty of storage :)
I make a lot of use of the over cab shelf in ours, I'm not sure how we'd manage with the new vans that have a skylight there instead
The other thing that really helped was turning the 'wardrobe' into a pantry - we don't take clothes that need hanging.
