Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Anyone else off to the NEC tomorrow?

We're going to have a wander around and a gawp at vans we could never afford :)

I have a ticket - I want to look at van conversions and van-based builds. No plans to swap the Moho yet, but it’s still under consideration.

Question for you fetchies who’ve travelled Scotland.

My friend and I are hoping to do WHW next year and my thought is take Vinnie it would mean some logistics as finishing the days adventure and bus/taxi back to van and drive it to the stop (or at end of day drive to the finish for the next day and taxi/bus back to precious day finish point)

Question is how easy is it to find places to camp if not at a campsite? Tia

Loch lomond area needs permit for overnight parking/camping. The rest should be straight forward.

Try park4night app and also check forestryandland.gov.scot to see if any permitted places fit the bill.

Naturescot reserves often allow over night stops.

Thanks @RunningRonnie we originally thought we’d camp so there is campsites and looking no at them they seem to allow campervans now to work logistics of getting back for van / getting van to next night stay.

omg I am completely exhausted ! walked miles and miles round and around the show,
Luckily for the bank balance, there wasn't a single van there I would trade in ours for. Lots that looked gorgeous, lots with new tech or off-road capabilities - but not the layout we like or quite a lot bigger, which doesn't help with daytime parking etc.

The upgraded version of ours, despite looking brighter and fresher has a lot less storage and smaller 'kitchen'.

Phew ;)

We felt exactly the same the last time we went to the show a couple of years ago, Rosehip.
Now, however, we’re looking to downsize. Will hopefully have a smaller van in the New Year :)
