Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Lovely.
We are booked on the Sands of Luce site near Stranraer from Thursday, but Mr GM has suggested we go away on Tuesday and do a couple of off grid nights on the way. He can't wait to get away again and I'm very happy about that :)

GM we were at Sands of Luce last week. Massive site. Was a bit disappointed with the description that the tourers all had sea views alas when we arrived we were right at the back of the newly created area and could only see other vans. Great toilet facilities but decided that it is not for us.

Oh :( That's a shame. We were booked on the New England Bay CMC club site a few miles down the bay, but a friend had stayed at Sands of Luce a couple of years ago and recommended it. When the price of the CMC site increased, I cancelled and booked Sands of Luce instead as it's a few £££ cheaper, and am expecting a seaview.

GM. There is every chance you will get your sea view depending when you arrive onsite and it was the start of the Easter hols up here when we went. We were unaware that the pitches were unreserved.

We'll keep our fingers crossed then, TBIGTGY, but thanks for the heads up.

A favour, if I may be so brazen as to ask, if you don’t usually, please take a look at Alice the Camel’s blog. She only needs one more reader to get the Clickbait badge and for the torment to end. Thank you muchly 🤞🙏

Back on topic, we’ve had an overnight off grid at Caerlaverock Castle aire, just south of Dumfries. I recommend it. It’s on a cycle route and the edge of a nature reserve so plenty to fill a couple of days.

The river is visible through the trees.
