As long as you've got decent breakdown cover I don't see why it'd be any more inconvenient to break down in France than England. And you're probably more likely to break down here stuck in traffic and overheating versus French roads I think.

We've finally got ours back from the Tinkerer and he looked the business taking the daughters and fiends to Prom. Tonight we're heading to the shores of Windermere for the weekend. Always set off with crossed fingers.

Driving in France is much easier than in England! I'd much rather drive on an autoroute than on a motorway any day. Just head off without him MM Or drag him across the channel for a day trip, there are some nice little places just down the coast from Calais.
