We used to get issued a really effective insect repellent, back in the '80s. I assume the ingredients are now illegal in most countries, banned by an international convention or 2

I've tried everything going and they still bite me. I also react quite badly and am left with red lumps in many places. It doesn't stop me going places. I couldn't live in Kinlochleven though :-/. Memories of midgies during whw race....

My first ever night in a hired motorhome was in Kinlochleven. Unintentional wild camping as we were going to miss the cut off time to get to the campsite. Cue hurried googling of wild camp spots in the area...

I'm a bit confused on something about insurance.
The question asks "Has the vehicle been changed in any way from the vehicle
manufacturers standard specification?" Is the correct answer to this Yes or No?
They have insured it as a "VOLKSWAGEN TRANSPORTER MOTORCARAVAN" with body type "Motor Caravan"

Sorry, Ronnie, I don't know the answer to that. I got specialist campervan insurance, but I did the actual policy set up over the phone. I think I would have said something like "well, it's obviously been converted into a campervan, ha ha!", but I guess that's more difficult to put on a written application form! Haven't got a clue what the person on the line put into the box.

I called and spoke to ours and we listed every thing that has been done on the van. Really good and feel happier now it is insured properly as such. Our last insurance changed the cover without hardly any notice come renewal - it was a good job I questioned them or we would have been under insured
