The local blogger I follow and have met a couple of times has loads of birder mates who’ve been doing it forever. I’ll ask the question. There’s no sign of that characteristic churning sub-song associated with chiffs. At least one of the Merlin recordings captures that really well

At MiL's yesterday - took camera but nothing to photo. Back again today, didn't bother with the camera. 2 green woodpeckers spent the afternoon on her lawn. Grrr.
