Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The local blogger I follow and have met a couple of times has loads of birder mates who’ve been doing it forever. I’ll ask the question. There’s no sign of that characteristic churning sub-song associated with chiffs. At least one of the Merlin recordings captures that really well

Mrs D just sent me the following photo taken from our kitchen window. I'm wondering if one of our neighbour's has put in a pond.

Actually, that's taken from outside so not only is the heron close, it is also very brave or very hungry.

A singular swift screeching last night. Still holding on somehow in Stockton.

Great late report. I thought about them today and wasn’t expecting to discuss them again. I’m going to my old village tomorrow. It’s very swifty and I’ll be looking and listening

At MiL's yesterday - took camera but nothing to photo.
Back again today, didn't bother with the camera. 2 green woodpeckers spent the afternoon on her lawn.
Grrr.

Many swallows and a few house martins over the fields for yesterday's run but not a swift in sight this time, sadly.
