I had a nice long close look at a nuthatch today, foraging on the trunks of an overgrown conifer right outside my kitchen window. I initially thought treecreeper but the markings, and behaviour like foraging upside down, clinched it.

Ronnie, with a bit of luck you should see both golden and white-tailed.

I'll be on the lookout for some waders too. I love a sanderling.

Sea otters. Err, something to look out for on Mull I think, not a spot from this morning’s walk by the river Worth

Ronnie, head of Loch na Keal is a good place to start. There is a crag on the south side that is a well known Golden nest site and White Tailed are often found perching in the conifers on the North side. Plus the Loch and shore are good for lots of other stuff including Otters. It's a very popular spot with GNDs as they head north but you're a bit early for them. Parking is easy on both sides and either offers good views of both likely Eagle spots.

"Sea otters" no such thing in the UK DT. There just Otters in the sea 😉 well unless they've got lost from the north west Pacific 🤣

ff, the place you mentioned is exactly where I saw a golden eagle a few years ago. We were there hoping to see white-tailed eagles but didn't see one there. One flew over our hotel car park a bit further north, though, later that day, a juvenile, being mobbed by hooded crows. They were so small by comparison, they looked like motorbike outriders.
