Stonechat is one of my absolute favourites, just for the sheer pleasure of seeing and hearing my first one in the Yorkshire dales. If it hadn’t have been so vocal, I never would have seen it on top of a gorse bush. Now, once heard never forgotten. That was also the day we saw an adder. |

First singing blackbird of the year for me today. Not really giving it the full summer song, just trying things out at the moment, see if he remembered how it went. Also song thrushes.
