Several marvellous and fairly low-circling red kite on the way back north this lunchtime. I envisaged them feeding off Christmas scraps!!

Heard a mistle thrush myself today, DT.

Sanderlings are a favourite of mine from the north Norfolk coast, scuttling along the water's edge with their little legs going hell for leather. You can usually get quite close to them before they fly off.

The sanderling we saw yesterday were the most confiding I've ever seen. We got three turnstone too, talking about confiding waders ;-)
