Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

We were going to go to Norfolk tomorrow to try and see the bee eaters, but they have moved on apparently and the RSPB has closed the viewing site today

A juv wheatear this morning under Malham Cove. Incredible to think the bird was weeks old and would soon be about to undertake a serious migration

Swifts were screaming over mum’s bit of South Lincs today, think they had a successful breeding year as there seemed to be more than last year :)

First redstart and whitethroat of the year while heading around Gowbarrow at the weekend. Hundreds of swallows too, all through the race. Many, many bats overnight along with a lot of tawnies calling.

Our swallows and housemartens are still doing their morning performance, but looking a bit forlorn in the wet weather. Swifts still here in the evening too.

Big flocks of linnets on Rathlin Island, Northern Ireland, today. Smashing place. No corncrakes, though.

Our house martins are on their next (3rd?) brood. Bits of eggs on the floor under the eaves.

I've seen lots of very busy housemartins recently low-flying over grass meadows.

Our latest thing to go and watch is little owls. A group of five hanging out on some paddock railings.
