Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I went to pick up some spare bean plants from a friend and they had two geese with goslings in their pond, eating all the blanket weed apparently :)
Gorgeously cute!

Camping in Langdale the last few days, and the noise of the dawn chorus was incredible. It downed out all the snoring on the campsite!

Loads of wheatear, mippits, thrushes, buzzards and skylarks, and my first yellowhammer of the year. I missed the ring ouzel though :-(

The sparrows in the ODG are still the fattest and tamest in the West!

So for the last 2 weeks, I've taken my camera down with me when I've walked the dog in the woods. Heard the owls a couple of times and seen them flying off once.

Today, didn't take my camera but guess what I saw.

Pretty much the same place they were the first time. So i think that's where their nest must be. Will.not be forgetting my camera again.

Roberto, you're taking decent photos with your phone of a bird I've never seen. I'm deeply envious!
