Late for this year or early for next? Hope it wasn't staying for Christmas!

I think it would be relatively safe in the run up to Christmas. There’s not much meat on a swift

Lol! I was thinking more along the lines of it being disappointed by the lack of celebrations😉

For (I'm fairly sure) the first time in 21 years at this address I have seen a pied wagtail in my garden. Dozens of them around the town 1/2 a mile away.

I've seen a robin, blue tit, starling and blackbird in my garden this morning, all around the same time. It was like Christmas come early.
Fat pigeon and pal knocking about too.

FF...latest Ring Ouzel down here in South East Wales is 17th November. Had Willow Tit occasionally in the garden until ten years ago, No Goosanders yet along my "running stretch" of local river. Song Thrush singing this morning.

Heinzster, pied wagtails are always a hopeful for me. Never seen one in the garden, but I've seen plenty no more than 200 metres away.
