Seafront walk to Abergele this morning, curlew and oystercatchers in fields I've never seen them before. Rock pipits, wheatear and stonechat along the rocks on the seafront.

Had my first fruitless search for snow buntings, getting to the time of year where I keep miss seeing them.

I seem to see then in the same places each year. Rocky shoreline and rocky sea defences I guess? Took me a couple of years with help and advice on hear to positively identify them.

Red Kites over Angmering Great Woods this afternoon. It's the old story, if only I'd had my 100 - 300 zoom lens with me.

You get huge Vs of geese there. I'm fairly certain we dont get pinkies in North Wales, but I couldnt be sure as we get lots of greylag and I struggle to tell them apart

Around 45,000 were counted through here yesterday according to the reports I saw. Like you Steve I wonder what my portly residents think as they see/hear so many of their peers heading over?
