Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Wondering if I can come up with a run-commute route that goes that way without being ridiculously long - I'll stick the small bins in the pack - especially now the cafe is open :-)

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind a newbie? I've been feeding our garden birds for the past couple of weeks and we are now seeing quite large numbers of what I think are sparrows, black birds, thrush's and magpies, robins and blue tits and then a few other small birds.

We have been amused by the black birds mostly. There is an area of grass on the lawn which has a large ants nest... The sparrows eat the ants fine, the black birds seem to dance around covered in ants, getting more and more irritated, pecking at themselves, then the ground, hopping a few inches over and repeating... I could watch them for hours. We refer to it as the face floor... It looks like they are dancing! 😂

Hi Em, have a look at this book. Ignore the title - it’s a great introduction to birdwatching and nicely written

Oooooo could I borrow it at some point please flanker? When we’re actually allowed to see you IRL rather than through a computer screen 😢😢

Hang on - you could hold it up to the screen and turn the pages for me once I’ve nodded to say I’ve read them.... hang on! I think I’ve just invented something 😉 we could call it a f-book 😀

Good to see you here Em! Nice number of birds you've seen, much better than my garden lot although two Goldfinches yesterday were around for a while.
Usual Cetti's and Reed this morning, Whitethoats more obvious this year, Blackcaps still singing everywhere still.
