Just the one horse? You must have the only monogamous dunnock.

We have a pair of dunnocks, but very rarely see them together.

Our dunnocks are the same. Thought we only had 1 and then a much thinner one started showing. Only seen them at the same time once or twice.

Good views without bins of Blackcap, Garden Warbler and Whitethroat singing this morning. Heard all three first and was particularly pleased to have got the Blackcap and Garden the right way round. I think my ear is getting in tune for this year :-) always takes a little while to get confident.

Nice to see two pairs of Nuthatches that appeared to be collecting food for young as well.

oumau..Wrens frequently build more than one nest and only decide on the best place to live as the days go by! As for nature taking its course--if you have two cats then you can't really oversee all possible huntings that go on anyway; I have a cat and although I wouldn't be happy about a bird nesting at risk I would wonder at the sensibility(?) of a bird choosing to nest in a location that has risks from obvious predators. That's nature. I suppose my answer would be to let nature take its course. Ugh! But maybe hope for success by the Wrens regardless of cats being around!

Spotted a turnstone on the rocks at the end of the beach on my walk today. Sadly only had my phone, not a decent camera with me.

Beautiful birds and relatively easy to identify, especially as this one was picking up and turning over bits of seaweed.
