I only ever get a solitary Greenfinch. Always seems to visit as an add-on to the Goldfinches. One will turn up regularly for a few days and then no sightings for quite a while. That seems to have been the pattern for several years now but I keep hoping firstly that they become more regular visitors and in numbers.

When running on the beach, there were terns fishing just a few feet offshore. Hovering about thirty feet up, then screaming headlong into the surf like bullets.

Kingfisher seen by the beck behind Spar in Haworth then disappearing over the engine sheds (I was hoping for a dipper)

Interesting illustration of how clean UK watercourses are now (thankfully) and that it’s always worth checking the most mundane of environments for wildlife

Same with the Greenfinch here ff, used to be frequent visitors en masse

Coal tits heard and then seen on this evening's mini dog walk :)

Blue tits are nesting in the box on the garage :) - it's designed as a tenement block for sparrows, but two pairs of bluetits seem to have moved in :)

Spring is in full flow reading this thread, love reading of the different spots in different areas.

Highlights for me recently, wheatears, oystercatcher and sandwich terns on the seafront. A solitary lapwing still hanging around, apparently most of our local lapwings disappear to Denmark to breed. The garden has been great and watching the blackbirds always puts a smile on my face. But the absolute noisy best has to have been the shagging gulls whilst I was trying to enjoy a quiet cider in the garden tonight. At least I know I've several weeks of having lumps pecked out of my head to look forward to 😁

It'll be a cormorant DT. You're too far inland for shag!

It was eyeing up a horse at one point. They’ll mate with anything
