Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

:)

I live within sight of RSPB headquarters, we have lots of research and ringing and records locally, I shall have to ask if they know if it's still the same bird.

Excellent name indeed! Would be interesting to know if your local centre can recognise it.

Do love a Barn Owl.

In fact, I tend to write that about most birds.

In true Chris Packham style (who shockingly only gave 0.5 out of 10 to a Dipper on Winterwatch) - what are your 10/10 birds and which are your 1/10 birds?

Can you even rank birds like that? I'm going to have a think about it, but think I would struggle to give a low score to any bird!

We had a very active garden this morning - five woodpigeons, two blackbirds, two blue tits, a dunnock and a robin. It's almost like it's mild of something..... ;-) This is a Really Good number for us!!!

I always thought robins were territorial and you only had one in your garden but this morning there were two sat together on our fence

Not sure about ranking birds, but the USAF is apparently having problems with various species at their bases in East Anglia. These two are definitely 10/10 birds:
- Meadow Popit
- Stone Curfew
