Always lovely to see waxwings as they have a very different attitude, with their cool disregard, as well as a striking look.

Looking forward to the RSPB garden birdwatcher this weekend. We better see more than just pigeons though. The dunnock better show up!

We don’t get much in our garden but do get the occasional exciting fly through. A sparrow hawk turned up last year 👍. Doubt I’ll get a waxwing though....

Dave has built two new bird feeding things in anticipation 😉

As the sparrowhawk turned up during the bird watch hour. We’ve seen it a couple of times since 👍

I had a lovely run through RSPB headquarters this morning - either there are at least 8 green woodys there or they get about a bit :)

Will be doing the bird watch with a group of kids from school, we've got extra time to do it - so probably Thursday. one of my favourite school days of the year :)

Black red start today at Tynemouth. Went to see a fox, ended up seeing both. Birds aren’t my main focus so it was a bonus to find out it was there. Stunning.

Beautiful and very pale Barn Owl out hunting during our run this afternoon. Given it was wet, windy and about 3: 30, the poor thing must have been damn hungry.

Not sure if it was down to the pale morph, but it looked far bigger than the average Barnie.

Is it Birdwatch weekend all ready? Might have to do mine at some other time next week, and possibly somewhere else given the lack of a garden here!
